Passed away on March 01, 2018
Newton Thompson Brock, Sr, 69, died March 1, 2018 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, surrounded by his children.
He was born September 23, 1948 in Vienna, GA and lived in Savannah for most of his life before moving to Alabama and eventually returning Georgia.
He spent two years in the Army as a Military Policeman from 1968 to 1970. He was stationed in Alaska and was also a canine handler.
Newton Brock graduated from Jenkins High School and graduated from Savannah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He was a member of Pi Gamma Mu National Honor Society.
He began is expansive career in law enforcement in the early 1970s on the Chatham County Police Department. He would eventually join the City of Savannah Police Department until he retired in 2000. He held many positions throughout his law enforcement career to include
Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Steven Sepulveres of Orlando, FL; his son Tommy Brock of Brunswick, Ga and his grandchildren, Cody Bradley, Mikaylah Bierbrodt, Marissa Bierbrodt, Molly Bierbrodt, Elizabeth Brock, Lola Sepulveres, Anthony Sepulveres, Anna Sepulveres and his great grandson Kristopher Spence.
